Bring the dog
A waterfront vacation rental that welcomes your dog
Bayshore Getaway at 11885 W Bayshore Drive is a 5-bedroom waterfront vacation rental that sleeps 11 and welcomes up to two dogs. The property features an artificial-turf dog area, a private dock in a no-wake zone, and secure outdoor space so your dog can play while the family relaxes on the wraparound porch.
Dog amenities at the house
Everything your dog needs on site
Most vacation rentals in Crystal River do not have a dedicated dog area. Bayshore Getaway does. The side yard is covered in artificial turf, which means no mud tracked into the house and no digging in the grass. Bag dispensers are mounted on the exterior wall near the back door, and a retractable hose is coiled on a hook so you can rinse paws after a walk or a swim at the dock.
The dock is dog-safe. The Navarre Canal is a no-wake zone, and the water is shallow at the seawall, so dogs can wade and play without worrying about deep water. The wraparound porch has secure railings, and the fenced side yard gives dogs a contained space to run while you cook on the grill or watch the kids play in the game room.
A retractable trash bin sits near the back door for dog waste bags. The house rules ask that dogs stay off the beds and furniture, which keeps the space clean for the next guests. If your dog is a chewer, the living room has leather sofas that hold up well, and the kitchen is fully stocked if you want to pack a lunch for the day.
The details
Pet policy and fees
The pet fee is $150 per stay, added to your reservation at booking. It covers the extra cleaning and turf maintenance that come with hosting dogs. Two dogs are allowed per reservation; a third dog is not permitted under the house rules. Pet-related damage beyond normal wear is covered by the $500 refundable damage deposit on the reservation.
Dogs must stay off the beds and furniture. This is a house rule, not a suggestion, and it applies to all guests regardless of breed or size. If you want your dog on the bed, bring a throw blanket from home. The primary suite has a king bed, and the other bedrooms have queens or twins.
Service animals are exempt from the pet fee and the two-dog limit under the ADA and Airbnb policy. An emotional support animal or a therapy dog is not a service animal under the ADA. Only dogs that are trained to perform specific tasks for a person with a disability qualify as service animals. If you are bringing a service animal, please note it in your booking request so we can confirm the space is suitable.

Dog-friendly spots nearby
Hunter Springs is a short drive from the house and offers a leashed-dog area that is free to use. The trails wind through pine flatwoods and along the Withlacoochee River, and dogs must be on a leash at all times. It is a quiet, shaded spot that works well for a morning walk before the heat sets in.
Crystal River Preserve State Park has trails that welcome dogs on leash. The preserve covers over 3,000 acres of wetlands and upland forest, and the trails range from easy walks to more challenging hikes. The main trailhead is off Citrus Boulevard, and parking is free. Check the Florida State Parks website for current trail conditions before you go.
Downtown Crystal River has a food scene that welcomes dogs on patios. Crackers is a local favorite with a spacious patio where dogs are welcome. The menu covers American comfort food, and the location on Citrus Avenue is walkable from many downtown rentals. Other patios along the square also take dogs, so you can grab a coffee or a beer and let your dog rest at your feet.
